Watercolor Magic!

Check it out! Talk about magic? This is a watercolor completed by Sonny Carpenter last week at ESSA. I watched the painting unfold all week long and just when I thought it must be finished, he made it better. My favorite memory is when Sonny asked for a magnifying glass so he could see if the line by 'her' eye was a wrinkle or an eyelash.
Claire McCormick was a first time ESSA student and she shared that the last time she painted with watercolors, she was using one of those store bought plastic trays. Well, trust me, she's come a long ways since then. The picture she's working on is of her father... hmmm... I wonder if it was completed in time for Father's Day?
Marlene Gremillion (on the left) was the instructor. She's from Hot Springs Village and has honored us with her instruction four years in a row! The students appreciate her style and patience. Marlene works in other mediums, but watercolor is definitely her forte.
