Re-Art A Great Success!

April 1st was the Foolish for Re-Art Auction for ESSA. Not only was it a humming event with people, chatter and music, but the funds raised exceeded our expectations! Thank you to all who donated your used art work and local services for the auction as well as those who came out to swoop up the fabulous finds! Our silent auction accounted for about half of the funds we collected, and the live auction items were hot, hot, hot!

One of the sizzling things on the auction block was this hand-beaded and hand-trimmed apron, which went to our board president, Elise Roenigk, but not without a duel between bidders. The apron was donated by Mary Tait and Eleanor Lux, both well-published for their respective handcrafts. Many of us were coveting this and other aprons which local artists hand embellished.

Local businessmen and avid supporters of ESSA came to enjoy this lively party. A little foolish fun was the key that kept this party hopping even after the bidding was closed.

Big thank you's to all who helped. Mary Springer, our fund raising chair, knows how to throw a party! Also helping was Cynthia Dupps, one of our former board members and fund raising chairs, Elise Roenigk, Dana Jones, Eleanor Lux, John Willer, our staff, Sabina Miller and Patt Carmichael and of course the lovely Peggy Kjelgaard. A round of applause to Daren Guillory, our auctioneer, who has found a hidden talent he didn't know he had. And big thank you's to our host, Inn of the Ozarks, who donated the space. Thank you to the band who kept the party hopping. To the Lovely County Citizen for helping us promote it, and so many more who gave of their time, talent and auction items. All the food was donated and thank you to all who provided our scrumptious buffet!

ESSA is so thankful for the funds which came in. Especially in this down economy, we are grateful for the support of so many. Thank you all!
