Pastels by Jody Stephenson
Enjoy the instant gratification of applying pastels to the painting surface. Pastels are versatile, yet forgiving and an enjoyable means of expression. Beginners are welcome and experienced will benefit from learning new techniques as well. Jody has been a working artist for 30 years and is well known for her pastel work as well as paintings. She resides at Studio 62 with her husband, photographer Ron Lutz.

Silk Dyeing by Suzanne Sanders-Tourtelot
Learn the ancient Japanese traditions using both wax and gutta resists to create beautiful designs on silk. Practice these techniques as well as the design, preparation, dyeing and processing of the silk. This class is open to beginners. Suzanne's career is the culmination of many years experimenting with surface design and fabric construction techniques. She resides and works in Holiday Island.

Cut Glass Mosaic Mirror by Fran Carlin
Create a mirrored frame using the style of ancient Turkish mosaic, cutting and applying the tesserae. Brilliant colored and mirrored glass will be used to create rhythm and balance in the designs. Fran is a local Eurekan Artist and among her studies, includes the Studio di Mosaico in Ravenna, Italy.

Painting by John Willer
Figure, landscape, or still-life, students will be working towards developing a good painting. Students may work in acrylic or oil in this class and are encouraged to bring medium sized canvases or boards. John, a graduate of the Memphis College of Art, has had a successful career painting, selling his work, and traveling the world.

Making Spindles and Spinning Tools for the Hand-Spinner by Joyce Roberts
Students of any level will make spinning equipment and handle different fibers. Learn how they differ and where to find them. Learn to separate and draft roving, spin, attach new length, ply and finish yarn for knitting, crocheting or weaving. Joyce, now of Eureka Springs, was formerly the in-house artist at the Needlepoint Gallery in Fort Worth, Texas. She has had a love and curiosity of fiber since the sixth grade when she first learned to knit.

Chain Fabrication with Lyla Allison
Learn ten basic steps of chain making, including design, measure, wrap, saw, assemble, solder, form texture, polish and finish chains with a custom clasp. All levels of metalsmiths are accepted in this class. Lyla has apprenticed for two years with Judy Lee Carpenter, and designs and makes custom jewelry in 14 karat gold and sterling silver with gems and natural stones. She is a gem of Eureka Springs, herself.
